NOW YOU KNOW* GO TRY IT ON!!

Hey TEF fans!

I’m consistently finding ways to expand my styling career and love/knowledge of fashion. Some time ago, I met with the ladies over at Go Try It On and fell in love with their site. Go Try It On gives you the one thing we all want before we leave to house or while we shop for an event…an honest opinion!

Basically, the user uploads pictures to their site via their iphone app (super easy), give a little background on the outfit such as brand and occasion then submit it. People from all over the world can instantly vote and give you their opinion which helps you then decided to move forward or return it to the rack. Genius concept if I do say so myself! You don’t always have someone around to give you their opinion or even time to track someone down so why not just shoot, upload and kick your feet up while waiting for feedback? MY WORK* TEST SHOOT

I DID IT!!!!! I conquered my fears and put together my first test shoot. I was a bag of nerves dealing with concepts and dates and pulling together the right team to help create my vision. After a few set backs, I’m proud to say that in the end it was all worth it and like always blessed to have each and every person involved and the most AMAZING cheering squad. I’ve learned a great deal and will continue to make my way.

CELEBRITIES* “EFFORTLESS STYLE”

To keep up to date with all the going’s on’s in fashion I read. Read the blogs, read the papers, read the sites. Not each and every article speaks to me, but when they do they speak volumes. This past Sunday’s, The New York Times did a piece on veteran stylist June Ambrose. I’ve referenced her before here, here and here.

A pioneer in her own right, this lady does it all. She took the path less traveled when magazines refused to recognize her talents and created a very successful, much demanded stylist company. After twenty years in the game Ms. Ambrose is now the wardrobe stylist for “X Factor” which is a HUGE undertaking, can we say Simon Cowell!!!. Next up is her reality show which I know will be inspiring and tasteful. All that and motherhood in New York City!! Hard work, hard work.

Ms. Ambrose inspires me to work hard, never give up, hustle, hustle, hustle to continue my journey to success.

ON DISPLAY* ORANGE GLOW

In love with a designer item but can’t afford it? Take a look in your closet. I can almost guarantee that you have something similar hanging up and all it needs it a little attention and a creative eye. Exhibit A… my H&M dress. I’ve worn this dress several times this summer and was even teased about how orange and bright it is. Well …look at me now!
