Last night MP and I hit the streets for NYC’s Fashion Night Out and slowly but surely a few of our friends joined the fun. First stop…. Lord & Taylor. Lord & Taylor had floors and floors upon activities. After swiping two flutes of champagne, cupcakes for the crew and taking pictures in their photo booth we made the executive decision to leave the stores madness and make a b-line for SOHO. On the way out, we checked out Solange, saw Sam and Libby Edelman and drooled over ever pair of shoe that they had out on display (pictures of my fav’s below
). En route to SOHO we decided to change our route and head uptown to check out the scenes on Fifth Avenue. Walking from 42nd
we found the swarms of people to be overwhelming. With each crowd lined up to get in various stores, the question of who was inside always came up. From Drake and Nikki Minaj to Ivanka Trump each participating brand tried to out do the other. On our way past Tiffany’s, we saw what we thought to be the most interesting window display (video below
). Enticed by the window attraction, we headed into Tiffany’s had the most disgusting drinks (I’m still trying to figure the ingredients), asked questions about jewelry we had no business even looking at and ended the night on a high night dancing with passerby’s to the tunes of DJKISS. Michael Jackson, Prince and other artists closed out our night.
After this years events I’m not sure if I want to attend next years FNO. Only a mere three years have passed since FNO’s inception but it’s turned into a zoo! People are seldom buying stuff and the drunk stumbling girls at 9pm are unattractive. Am I being a snob? Eh who knows! But I’m sure this is not what Anna Wintour had in mind when hashing out this plan with the CFDA and Mike Bloomberg.
