RESTAURANT WEEK – CAPITAL GRILL

January 31, 2011 in LIFE, SCENE & BE SEEN

To get our feet wet for restaurant week we started off by hitting up Capital Grill.  Now, I walk past Capital Grill EVERY…SINGLE…DAY going too and from work.  In the evenings it is always packed with suits which made me wonder what the big deal was.

Last Wednesday MP and I met to check out their restaurant week menu.

It was a super packed house as per usual. Dimly lit with 50 trillion waiters and hostesses running around to keep everything in order.  With the impending snow storm it looked like everyone was trying to eat their last meal just in case they were stuck in their homes and couldn’t leave for days like in “The Day After Tomorrow.”

MP and I hadn’t seen each other one-on-one for weeks so it was the perfect time to catch up on everything both business and personal.  Our waiter was a SUPER tall guy who instantly reminded us of “Fletcher” (John Salley is his real name) from the movies Bad Boys… you know the techy one who had on the thick glasses that Martin tried to punk for taking too long on his research?  And true to the nature of “Fletcher” this dude did not smile with us AT.ALL despite our smiles and flirty jokes.

He provided good service without any theatrics. Straight to the point.

2 hours later after some intense brainstorming and stuffed beyond belief we headed out into the start of the storm with a new focus on the blog and several tricks up our sleeves for other initiatives.

We.Got.It.In…

MP-

A glass of riesling

Field greens, tomatoes, fresh herbs

Double cut lamb ribs chops (3)

Fresh creamed spinach

Flourless chocolate express cake

DK-

Field greens, tomatoes, fresh herbs

Filet Mignon, 8oz

Fresh creamed spinach

Chef’s Seasonal Fruit Sorbet

The lamb was soo tender and off the chain and ooo that filet mignon.  We would def go back again.  Next time we’ll pass on the spinach though.  It was too large a portion.

On to the next spot.
