MAN UP?
February 4, 2011 in SUIT UP
Per Urbandictionary.com – To groom a man. Shaving, waxing, cleaning up the superfluous fur.
I think for the most part when talking to my male friends about if they manscape it is always either a “HELLO NO” (with serious BASS in their voice) or “sometimes” (without a stutter and a more even tone ). Now when I say mascaping or grooming I am not specifically talking about below the belt, I’m just speaking in general.
Once upon a time, I thought it was border line crazy for guys to engage in manscaping, that it said something about their sexuality but as I’ve gotten older I think I’ve learned to appreciate a dude who acknowledges the excess fur. I mean at the end of the day the extra fur doesn’t make you more of a man. If you’re lame…you’re lame with or without the hair. In some ways you can even look at that guy who handles his business as possibly being more manly since he’s taking steps that most men wouldn’t. I meaaan handle that unibrow! Handle that backne (back acne) …those hang nails.
This subject may go as far as being considered taboo but honestly why? Why is that only women go all out with spending hours in the salon, the pain of waxing, priming and primping? Men need to join in on the festivities. Oh the joyous pain of beauty!
I must say that there are some manscaping activities that I still feel some kinda way about and only feel acceptable …. saaaaay if you are Michael Phelps but shoot who am I to judge. I do know there are two spots in the city that are suppose to be amazing.
