Although unforgiving, this is one of my most comfortable outfits to date! The other day I slapped on my spanx and kept it moving to get an amazing turkey burger from Chez Lucienne in Harlem. I was such a greedy girl!

What I’d like to call 8 days and back Ms. America tour concluded with an overnight trip to Jackson, Mississippi. I can honestly say that I appreciate being home and won’t have the itch to fly anywhere (a tleast for now). For the past week and change I’ve flown from NYC to Little Rock, Arkansas and back (with layovers), NYC to Miami and back and then NYC to Jackson, Mississippi (with layovers) and back. With the completion of my trips, the sweet NYC polluted air never smelled better.

Although I travelled in more comfortable attire to Jackson, I did a quick change in the bathroom so that I was ready for my father-in-law to be’s doctorate graduation from Jackson State University. I was so proud to be apart of the celebration but there’s no place like home!

Oh and I have make mention that it was FREEZING in Mississippi. Honestly, I can’t ever it get it right in packing for a trip. NYC was warm so obviously it I thought it was warm across the map. I pack for warm weather and it’s cold. I pack for cold weather and it’s a blizzard. I have to do better.

I think I’m the queen of snatching up the latest mass market collabo’s and this dress is no different. Prabal Gurung for Target created this amazing easy breezy dress. It was PERFECT for my Miami trip!

Bold colors helped me blend in with my environment. If I could have only stayed longer!

STYLE* SIMPLY DRESSED

In gearing up for last weeks wedding I faced the challenge of not matching the wedding party. I’ve had that experience before and did not want a repeat so I went with a nude jersey dress that I was almost sure wouldn’t be apart of the color scheme. As for accessories, I kept it very simple with my diamonté wing earrings from H&M.

I had such a good time catching up with friends that I forgot to take pictures outside to really show you the dresses detailing but I did manage to snap a few once inside before dinner.

Last week I found myself all over the American map. I hit small city Hot Springs, Arkansas for a wedding and then traveled to party mecca Miami, Florida for work. Both completely enjoyable but also exhausting!

While in Miami, I sported a light look that kept with the relaxed Floridian vibe and took refuge from the humidity at The Fontainebleau.

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed that I recently dyed my hair red. I’ve wanted this color for some time now (inspired by Chaka Khan) and tried getting it for my birthday last month but had a color moment gone wrong and ended up with a reverse ombre situation. I’ve since gone to another salon and am in love with the results with the help of stylist Gabrielle Corney!

Thoughts? I think it’s pretty fun for the summer. I can’t wait to see how it looks when curly and in its natural state.

Sorry I’ve been MIA Dani-DK lovers but I haven’t forgotten about you.

After a day of running around doing errands all day I find the best remedy is finding a park bench and basking in the sun to wrap it all up. I even had a furry friend come visit me.

Since the last time I wore my birthday Zara sweatshirt I couldn’t wait to wear it again. It’s become my go-to this spring since the weather is so unpredictable. This go around I paired it with some great work pants that have lasted me over the years. Oddly enough, I found myself in head-to-toe Zara but loving the finished product anyway.

Boston you gave me shelter and a sense of safety for five years after the horrors of September 11, 2001 in New York City. This week you were visited by a similar horror. You are as welcoming of all cultures as my hometown New York City I love you and I send you my heartfelt sympathy. Stay strong Boston. Thank you for helping shape me as a woman.
