Here’s another fun way to spruce up your furniture for the cheap and cheerful!  Everyone has their own feelings about Ikea furniture but no matter your views it won’t look like a conventional Ikea piece when you’re done.

Start with two Ikea Lack Side Tables which come in an array of colors for the low price of $9.99 each (I used birch).  Since they come in several pieces as do all their furniture, I discarded the four legs of one table and screwed on the legs to the other table.  From there I glued on the top of the other table (I used wood glue) to create a cube. Purchased carpet nails (from the hardware store) and broke out the hammer to nail the trim of the “cube table” giving it a more custom feel.
