A woman’s purse can say a whole lot about them.  After a few questions about what lip lacquer I use, I figured I’d just share the one place that I house most of them… my purse.

1. Phone Charger. You never know where you’ll end up after work  I’m notorious for a bar charge.
2. Jewelry Pouch. On the way home, I sometimes remove my jewelry to start the process of de-stressing.  I use my mesh pouch to protect my little jewels from bouncing around in my bag.  If you don’t have one I’d recommend you getting one too.  It’s perfect!
3. Nook. A little reading material doesn’t hurt anyone.
4. Card Holder. You never know who you’ll meet and being prepared is key.
5. Lipstick. I always keep my perfect nude MAC with me.
6. Lip gloss. I love NYX. Their shades always compliment my skin tone.  Red, Pink, and Nude…I’m prepared for any event as well as quick refresher.
7. Wallet. Essential.
8. Sanitizer. Cleanliness is everything.  Riding the train everyday is totally unsanitary.
9. Sunglasses. The sun is always shinning, it doesn’t matter the season.
10. Gloves. For the obvious seasons reasons.

Each time I switch out my bag, I change some things here and there but for the most part it stays the same.  What’s in your purse?

I’m not sure who wrote that quote but believe me, shopping makes me feel great!  Finding a good sale…even better.  Unfortunately that does result in some extra baggage (no pun intended).  That said, I’ve decided what better way to reduce, reuse and recycle gently worn (or not so worn) goods that I have pilled up in my closet than to put them up for sale.

The contract sleeve jacket is trending heavily this season!  If I see the 2012 Spring collection Safari Zara jacket one more time, I may have to politely remove it from them Both men and women can sport this trendy look.  Although a more dollars than cents kind of purchase, these two tone jackets purchase do not seem to be slowing down.

I absolutely cannot wait for Anna Della Russo’s accessories collaboration with H&M to hit the stores.  Only 140 H&M stores will be honored with carrying the collection on October 4th. Admittedly I have a girl crush on her and her accent and her closet but aside from that, the collection is so ornate and glamourous!

I want all the clutches and sunglasses and shoes and necklaces and bracelets.  I think that’s everything in the collection!

Who thought that the Upper East Side couldn’t become sexier?!  Que FiveStory boutique that has set out to rival Paris’ Colette and Milan’s Corso Como.  Intrigued by reports of grandeur since Colette’s cult following of their hip, haute, couture lifestyle store is something sick and has been around for AGES, I plan make a trip soon enough.

Located at 18 East 68^th Street, FiveStory is the home of an eclectic curated selection of mens, womens, kids, clothing, accessories and jewelry and home. The brainchild of dear I say “style prodigy” UES native, 25-year-old Claire Distenfeld sells both contemporary clothing and unique one-of-a-kind items. A major undertaking if you ask me. I’d love to see how FiveStory holds up in this economic climate as her price point’s start at $200.  I wish Claire nothing but the best as a fell young entrepreneur.  Girl power baby!

Raf Simons

Today’s the the day that 44 year-old Belgian designer Raf Simons takes the helm at Christian Dior!  The press caught wind of the new appointment on Monday however today, Wednesday, Raf will take over as artistic director after the disgraceful removal of John Galliano after his anti-Semitic remarks.  Raf’s career highlights include his own label Raf by Raf Simons and previous Creative Director of Jill Sander.

I am intrigued to see the new direction that Dior takes as Galliano and Simons are night and day with their designs.

Best of luck to Raf!  The world of fashion I’m sure is watching intently.

No stranger to flash of a photographer’s camera IMG model, Joan Smalls has steadily made her way to the forefront of fashion elite models.   A native to Puerto Rico, born Joan Rodriguez, her personal style and stunning beauty makes her a top select amongst casting directors.  Her March issue of Vogue Italia brought her a lot of positive attention yet bringing a lot of attention to lack of diversification of the magazine.  Smalls has been the face of Estee Lauder and Roberto Cavalli and Givenchy ad campaigns over the years.  There’s nothing small about this woman’s stamp on the industry.
