NANETTE LEPORE FALL 2011

February 16, 2011 in HAUTENESS

Another drive by invite!  I can’t even begin to tell you how grateful I am for these moments.

To make this experience all the more amazing, I kept bumping into Mr. Bill Cunningham (outside, inside and then in the lobby again).  This man is the New York Times creative genius behind so many photo’s that you’ve seen over the years.  His work is breathtaking.  I want to just take him home with me and put him in a Snuggie (no shade).  There is a film coming out about him and his work on March 16 (http://www.zeitgeistfilms.com/billcunninghamnewyork/) you MUST check it out.

Okay on to Nanette…

Ms. Nanette Lapore (www.nanettelepore.com), Youngston, Ohio native (shout out to my Ohio girls), designed a collection for all.  There was a strong presences of long flowing dresses, leather skirts, and lace accents.  Out of the 36 pieces that walked the catwalk I’d rock some where around 30.5 of them.

Enjoy.

SOUNDING OFF* LEVI’S GIRLFRIEND JEAN

February 16, 2011 in SOUNDING OFF, SUIT UP

Is this really going down?  The ‘”EX-GIRLFRIEND” jean? Like is this really going down?  Are men really buying these?!

These jump-offs look sooo incredibly tight that I don’t believe I’d be able to wiggle my way into them let alone if I had some extra bits and pieces attached to me.  Where’s the breathing room for the bits and pieces? Where’s the room for the amazing thighs that men are suppose to have.  Lets been real Levi’s…I would like to know how many of these have gone into production and how many they project to be sold and where and … I simply have a lot of questions.

Like…

Just imagine if you took off your jeans and your man friend was like I have to run to the store, let me borrow your jeans.  The PERPLEXED look on your face would be the least of the things that I think he’d have to worry about.

I also question why they chopped off homeboy’s face in the picture?

VOGUE & AMAR’E

February 16, 2011 in SUIT UP

Guys it looks like it may just happen!  There has been some whispering over the past couple months about the possibility of the Knicks own Amer’e Stoudemire (I mean he is a handsome dude and clearly can dress) gracing the cover of Vogue magazine.  The only other basketballer who’s hit the cover was LeBron James and that was flanked with controversy (picture King Kong aka King James and his love Gisele Bundchen).  Word on the street is that someone’s dream may come true.  Mr. Stoudemire continues to up his fashion cred by teaming up with the lovely Rachel Roy (ex-wife of Dame Dash) and being shot sitting next to the likes of Anna Wintour in the front row last year.

If the word is true, I can’t wait to see the unveiling of both endeavors.

Now if we could only get Mr. Anthony on the Knicks the world would be right again!
